A lover of Brazilian Popular Music and photography, Miguel is also a contributor to a music magazine. The editor-in-chief assigns the young man his first major professional challenge: to cover, in text and images, the “Refestança” tour, a super-production that will bring together Rita Lee, Gilberto Gil, and their bands for a series of performances in eight Brazilian capitals. In letters to his parents in Lisbon and his boyfriend in Rio, Miguel will report the major events and everyday facts of this historic tour, which was a breath of freedom in the midst of Brazil’s military dictatorship.
