100 DAYS

The film 100 Days, directed by Carlos Saldanha, is inspired by the book One Hundred Days Between Sea and Sky, by Amyr Klink, and portrays the remarkable journey of the Brazilian sailor, who became the first person to row across the South Atlantic Ocean.

In 1984, Klink completed the solo crossing over a route of nearly seven thousand kilometers, departing from Lüderitz, Namibia, and arriving in Camaçari, Bahia, over the course of 100 days, between June and September.

In addition to telling this epic adventure, the film explores deeper layers, such as Amyr’s complex relationship with his family, especially with his father, and how this crossing can symbolize his search for self-knowledge and personal growth.

The work is not limited to the physical feat itself, but also addresses the broader symbolism of this journey, revealing a psychological and emotional dimension that goes beyond what was described in the book.
